Pas bij het aanbreken van het jaar 2000 besluit deze voormalige directeur van een grote bank, afkomstig uit Carpentras, zich met lichaam en ziel onder te dompelen in een nieuw avontuur. Enkele jaren eerder had zij een echte passie voor wijn ontdekt bij het proeven van een Meursault van Jean-François CocheDury. Met de kostbare hulp van haar echtgenoot is zij nooit opgehouden met het zoeken naar wijngaarden om te kopen in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.<br \/><br \/>In 2002 kruiste het lot van Isabel dat van de familie Serre, die sinds de jaren twintig eigenaar is van een twintigtal hectare wijngaarden op de zuidelijke hellingen van het dorp. Suzanne Serre vertrouwde de "sleutels" van dit oude familiedomein toe aan Isabel Ferrando, een wijnbouwster die zeker een beginneling was, maar die werd gedreven door een passie en energie die door niets kon worden tegengehouden. Zich bewust van het bijzondere en zeer homogene karakter van het terroir van Saint-Préfert, waar gerolde kiezels en grind volledig op een bed van blauwe klei liggen, heeft Isabel Ferrando door reizen en ontelbare proeverijen een persoonlijke visie op de wijnbereiding ontwikkeld. Zij aarzelt niet om te investeren in een nieuwe kelder of om het landgoed om te bouwen tot biologische landbouw, om zichzelf de middelen te geven om haar ambitie waar te maken.<br \/><br \/>Haar credo: koste wat kost de integriteit, de glans en de frisheid van de vrucht bewaren, zodat deze zonder kunstmatige ingrepen alles doorgeeft wat de lucht en de aarde haar hebben gegeven.
